Electrical emergency call out case study
LIKE Electrical were called out to the 2-star Michelin restaurant in Cambridge after other contractors working damaged electric cables.
PROJECT DETAILS
Contractors carrying out work at Midsummer House, one of Cambridge’s leading fine dining restaurants, ran in to issues when they damaged more than 20 cables while chasing some external walls.
The damage was likely to impact the works schedule and so we were contacted at short notice to help fix the situation. After the call out and upon investigation, we also identified that the cabling did not comply with current regulations.
As we offer a 24-hour emergency electrical service, we were able to get out to Midsummer Café within hours to assess the situation and put a repair plan in place.
The plan included the LIKE Electrical team stripping all the old cabling from the wall and then chasing the walls to introduce the correct cable zones to comply with regulations.
The team then spent 3 long days on site to rectify all the damaged cabling and ensuring that the works were able to remain on track.
All the electrical work was tested and all required certified documentation was supplied to the client.
